Best of the Region 2, March-April 2018

Nearly 60 artists responded to the 2018 competition, 36 of whom were chosen for inclusion. The result (over 50 works) were on display at Manassas City Hall in March & April of 2018. If you are interested in purchasing a work, please contact the artist, or get in touch with p-ART-ners.

The selected works may also be viewed online in our Facebook gallery, along with judge's comments about the winning pieces and extra information about each work.

"Best of the Region 2" Fine Art Show & Sale, 2018

Entries

We are seeking art in all media for a juried fine art show, to be exhibited in Manassas VA. Works will also be displayed online.

Open to artists who live, work or create art within a 35 mile radius of Manassas, VA.

PROSPECTUS

Deadline to enter: March 9, 2018.

Entry fee: Members of Sponsor Organizations: $15 per artist. All others: $25 per artist.

What you may enter: Original work of the artist only, completed within the last three years, in any medium that can be hung on the walls. Any subject, but must be “family friendly”. Maximum dimension, 42” (including frame). Minimum, 8”. Maximum weight, 20 lbs. Up to 5 submissions per artist. This show will be juried from jpegs of your work. Artwork previously shown in this exhibit will not be accepted.

​Drop off/pick up: Drop off selected artwork Monday, March 19, 2 p.m. Pick up Friday, April 6, 2 p.m. If you can’t meet these times, please contact us for alternatives.

Location: The Hall at City Hall, 9027 Center Street, Manassas.

Presentation: Please adhere to our framing and presentation guidelines.

Reception and awards: At minimum, $300, $200 and $100 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be awarded. Awards will be presented during the reception (time/date TBA.)

​Judge: Rosemary Gallick, Professor of Art and Art History at Northern Virginia Community College. (Bio here.)

Sales: Are between the artist and the customer. No commission is taken.

​How to enter:
This exhibit will be juried by photos (jpegs). Each artist may submit up to 5 images (one of each work). Images should show only the artwork, not any mats or frames.

We recommend jpegs be sized at 150 dpi, and be between 4-5” on the long side. Other sizes will be accepted as long as the image is clear, and the file size does not exceed 3MB. Save each image with this filename format: LastnameFirstname_Title of Work.jpg.

In the body of your email, please include your name (as it should appear in publicity), location (for proof of eligibility), and daytime phone number. If you are paying the $15 entry fee, please indicate which sponsoring organization you are affiliated with.

Also, please list the following for each image:

Medium
Dimensions
Price (or NFS, if not for sale)

Payment:
You may pay online with a credit card at www.squareup.com/store/p-art-ners.
Or a check may be mailed to: p-ART-ners, P.O. 13, Manassas, VA 20110.

Payment must received by the March 9 deadline.

​Liability: Artists exhibit at their own risk. All possible care will be taken of artwork, but none of the entities involved will be responsible for any loss or damages to items exhibited, nor pay for repair or replacement of any items lost, stolen or damaged. By entering this show, artists agree to abide by these guidelines.
